About the role
Epsom Girls Grammar School, Te Kura Tuarua o Ngā Taitamāhine o Maungawhau, is a school that strives for excellence: in performance, in the connections between people and in its pastoral supports. As a school we have always taken girls’ education seriously and, in all that we do, we seek to grow women of great character. In our kura we value courage, aroha, community, and manawa reka, and these values are woven through our words and our actions – from a governance level through to a classroom and co-curricular level, as well as in informal interactions on campus, and in the community. We are a large, urban school for girls, with a current role of 2,300 students. Our expert staff teach towards the national qualification, NCEA, and we also offer Cambridge International courses and learning (where appropriate). We have a large co-curricular programme of sports, visual and performing arts, cultural expression as well as charity and service opportunities. Our staff are expected to take an active role in supporting the co-curricular programme of the school, by coaching or managing teams and groups. We seek an exceptional educator to lead our large, collegial team of health and physical education teachers. If you have a passion for sport and wellbeing and a commitment to promoting this with teenage girls, we would love to receive an application from you. Commitment to the school's co-curricular programme will be a condition of appointment. Experience in leading health education would be an advantage but is not required for appointment.
