About the role
Kelston Girls' College is seeking a relational and student-centred mathematics teacher to join our maths department. In this role, you will inspire young women to see mathematics as a powerful lens for critical thinking, problem-solving, and agency. You will teach across junior and senior year levels, embedding foundational numeracy while preparing students for NCEA success. Alongside classroom teaching, you will play an active role in academic mentoring (Ngā Toa o Kerehana), guiding a small cohort of ākonga to set meaningful pathway goals and building genuine, supportive partnerships with their whānau. We are looking for a teacher who holds high academic expectations, scaffolds learning effectively for diverse learners, and brings warmth, patience, and culturally sustaining practice into the classroom. Kelston Girls' College is committed to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and restorative practice. Applicants should demonstrate a commitment to these principles.
